18 months and I have been though the ringer!!

This week (tues the 12th of feb) I celebrated 18 months of sobriety. In my mind I don't think that is a whole lot when I look at other friends and see what they have. BUT, the thing is, I have lost 2 jobs and I have lost 2 family members and a family pet and you know what I haven't drank over any of that. It really is something to be proud of. I didn't do it on my own though. With the support of family and friends and a God , I have made it. I am proud of myself and I need to say that more often!

Something good this way comes...

At least I hope so. Lately it seems as if nothing good happens to me. I mean, I still don't have a full time job, I didn't pass my drivers test and I had a hearing for unemployment and I don't know if I am going to be granted that. So I am thinking I should be really upset and depressed by this, but actually I'm not. I know that I have a God that has a plan for me. Even though I don't know what that plan is (as my friend said, I would like to see the map) I know that if I keep doing what I should do I will find out soon enought.

All dogs go to heaven!

So, today I went to the vet with my parents and they made the decision to put their beloved dog "pika" to sleep. It has been a difficult time for them for the past 2 weeks. They almost had to put her down about a week ago but she was able to live another week and then last night about 9pm she got worse and the time had come. "Pika" has been a great dog for them , and since they have no children together, she was like their child. With in the past year she has lost her hearing and she ended up having a mass in her stomach that had made her bloat up really bad. She looked like she was in a lot of pain. My step-dad Roy was so sad and I really felt bad for him because I know he loved that dog. I think it is going to take some time for them to be used to her not being at their heals looking for food, or trying to put her outside. She went very peaceful today when they injected her. I was glad I could be there to comfort them.
We know she will be in heaven with other family members.

Finding a job...NO FUN!!

So I know that I have said that I found a pt job and I did. I in fact started training tonight. It was typical training, boring videos and a store tour. It really wasn't that bad. The part that I thought was bad at first was the fact that the other "trainees" were in high school. Oh well. I don't think they thought I was too much older. At least they acted like they didn't know. Funny! Anyways, it's just hard to find a job. I mean I have sent my resume to a ton of places and I have even gone in an applied. I have no idea what they think. I mean I was told by 2 places that they would call me in 7 to 10 days. WOW! For what? I don't know what they need that long for. Oh well, at least I have a pt job for now. Oh and everyone should get a kick out of this...I was talking to my mom about this job and she says I didn't realize that you had so many other jobs. Too funny! When I was in college I had a lot of jobs. I would usually do them for a day or a week or so and then quit. Having a job in college wasn't for me! :) Well , I know it's going to snow this weekend so I know it will be interesting.

I found it!!

Well since I have been out of work for awhile and I am of course going to need money, today I went with my mom around to some stores I thought I would be able to work pt until I found a ft job. So went I went to JoAnne Fabrics I wasn't thinking I would have an interview and get hired on the spot. Yep I am now a proud employee of a fabric store. If you know me you know that I absolutely love making beaded necklaces. So not only will I get a discount but I am also able to take all the craft classes that they offer for free. So hopefully I won't spend all the money on beads.

Give thanks...

I am so thankful for the family that I have. We have been though a lot this last year and we are all still hanging in there. This year my family decided that we didn't want to sit around on thanksgiving and think about my grandma and wish she was there and her homemade pies etc. So we went to chanhassen dinner theater and saw "Joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat". It was a great time. Then today Sunday, my mom made the whole thanksgiving dinner. It was GREAT! Then we watched some home movies from when my nephew J was a baby and we were happy to see that my Nana, grandpa and Roy's mom Ruth were all in the movies. It was great. So I am thankful that we had those tapes and were able to see the people that we have lost in the past few years.

We Miss You!

Once again!

Yeah I know, I am out of work again. This is not something that is new for me. Which is very sad. I wish that I could find a job that I love and I am also good at. I know it's out there I just have to keep looking.

I really have been looking for a job but I have to admit that it's nice not working. So I am also on the hunt for a sugar daddy. If you know one, let them know I am available and I am a good catch!
